interesting reads

my brain is about to go numb during this presentation, so i'm entertaining myself with today's news. some interesting reads:

1. magazines for queer parents -- the lede in this story sucks (i'm not quite sure what qualifies as a "lesbian look" hairstyle is and what actresses are wearing), but the story overall is pretty interesting. i'm becoming increasingly more aware of the growing "gay market," but this is one of the first things i've heard about targeting toward gay families (apart from rosie's gay family cruise - ugh) ... very cool.

2. transexuals in iran -- an enlightening story about transexuals in the muslim-dominated country. an alternately sad and hopeful story. interesting how it seemed that transexuals are deemed better than gays and lesbians, most especially women who are man-identified. hmmm.

3. good 'ol dave barry -- discussion on gender representation with breakfast cereal spokespeople and rambling.

i'll be back later. stealth typing sucks.
